Discover the Adelson High School Advantage

The Adelson School is an independent Jewish day school where students feel known, rigorously challenged and deeply supported from Pre-K through 12th grade.
Located in suburban Las Vegas, Nevada and founded on Jewish values and ethos, Adelson’s inclusive, connected community is open to all. We’re excited to embrace your family as part of our own!

What Is the Adelson High School Advantage?

From individualized instruction by faculty who feel like family, to intensive college and career prep, and our commitment to Jewish values, Adelson offers your child a uniquely meaningful learning environment.

Path to College

Adelson is committed to providing our high schoolers with extensive support to prepare for success in college and beyond. We offer this support in three key ways:

We provide an expert PSAT and SAT prep course in the first quarter of your student’s sophomore and junior year. The course has proven to increase scores as much as 200-300 points.

Our college counselor will work closely with your student to match who they are – what they want to do with their lives, what impact they want to make – with colleges that make an ideal fit.

  • Prepare student portfolios

  • Build resumés

  • Plan coursework and high school experiences

  • Assist students with securing scholarships

Volunteer experiences offer students deep engagement through sustained, hands-on experiences that challenge them to think empathetically and advocate for those in need.

Core and Focus Area Courses

Our approach to core courses – English, science, math, history and social studies – involves deep reading, critical analysis and discussion-based learning. It is also hands-on, focusing on the application of skills and concepts, not just the memorization of facts and theory.
In addition, we offer five Focus Areas to provide a more extensive pursuit and career-oriented curriculum balanced with freedom for students to explore their interests.

Students get hands-on with 21st-century business concepts from robotic technology and cybersecurity to entrepreneurship. They engage with the business world through internships, faculty and practitioner mentoring, and membership in DECA, a globally-recognized organization for leadership development.

Students focus on all things creative from 2D and 3D art to animation, filmmaking, music composition, and participation in the school band and theater productions.

Students interested in studying law benefit from instruction by a former attorney, who leads them through participation in a mock trial. In addition, 2021-22 will be the inaugural year for our model UN program, which will expand our students’ understanding of international politics and laws.

In these college-caliber courses, students engage in learning biomedical sciences by engaging with virtual reality, getting hands-on with manikins (medical dummies), and deepening their understanding of anatomy by building body parts.

Jewish faith leaders on the Adelson faculty provide mentorship and in-depth religious instruction to students seeking to become rabbis and teachers of the Jewish faith.
